no rust but the ball joints are creaky and the bodywork is definitely past its best , top speed has dropped significantly as has the acceleration ,but we still get there in the end ;)

I believe it is a "c" class , at least it says so on the handbook , I also note it has tints in the back windows , Thanks for the link , I will check the back windows and connections to the antenna . Cheers Dec

the car is a 2001 220 cdi coupe I have no idea where the receiver is sorry , no I didn't try the head thing , was sorely tempted tough

Yes I wont risk dropping swarf down the bore , I sprayed the whole area with road tar remover then ran the engine till it was hot with the bolt loosened , after about 2 minutes the engine sounded awful but was blowing smoke out of the injector , then it came out easy but I wont risk something...
