Not blaming the HOWTO infromation. The problems was that the wire i have for the CD changer did not come with a C1 connecter therefore i had to connect the wires into the connecter myself. thats where I made the C@*k up. You live and learn. I've given the system for repair hopefully it can...

I think that may be the problem then. the loom is mercedes one. i thought that brown was +ve and the black -VE. the blue/black cable has been connected to PIN10 in th C2 connecter

I attched the blue wire to Pin 10 in the C2 connecter
