Thanks for the replies, seems ok to use, 229.51 is a pretty top/new spec so if it meets that it must be decent oil I've also noticed oil that meets 229.51 also meets other manufacturer specs like BMW LL-04, VW 505.01 8 year old car should be fine with 5w30.
