    Minimising depreciation & Budgeting ?

I got the Saab. 2009 plate diesel estate auto with 30k miles for under 7k. I broke even on selling the Merc. It doesn't have all the toys, but after a few weeks I realised I didn't need most of them anyway, and on the trip back I made 58mpg I realise nobody buys a merc for reasons of economy...

    Minimising depreciation & Budgeting ?

I think I have found the solution - a Saab I can get a 9-3 diesel estate auto for 7-10k, at around 4-5 years old which does similar mpg. I have found a good local indy and the running costs should be similar, the parts are still available, and if I start at a lower purchase price the...

    c200 limited edt 125

I have a 2011 W204 125 special edition I thought the extras were all internal, the linguatronic, parking sensors & DVD rather than body styling or lights, but I could be wrong. I thought they added toys to the old model to make it appealing and to shift the ones they'd built before they launched...

    Phone attachment

My previous 2004 W204 had all the buttons, but it had never been pre-wired for a phone kit. Depending on the age, they needed pre-wiring as a factory fitted option. I don't know if it's possible to retro fit the phone kit to work with the buttons on the steering wheel. I bought a Parrot kit

Surprised a garage would let a car go with AC not working. Worth spending half an hour on their forecourt checking every last detail, elec mirrors, toolkit under the boot flap etc, before you leave, it's harder 2 weeks later when you discover the seats don't adjust

    Minimising depreciation & Budgeting ?

Thanks Sp!ke! I do get the difference back from HMRC. The other comments are absolutely correct, but spending so much time behind the wheel I would rather waft in a Merc than clatter in a Mondeo or park the skoda around the corner when I went anywhere. The Passat is the logical sensible choice...

    Minimising depreciation & Budgeting ?

I run my car for work and do around 30k miles total a year, of which just under 20k are business miles. Until now my firm has paid me 45p per mile for the first 10k and 25p per mile thereafter. I ran a 2004 C180k W203 estate automatic which i bought for £7,800 5 years ago on 35k miles and...

    C200 or C220 Diesel W204 MPG comparison

I am looking to change my W204 C220 Diesel. I'm told that the C220 does a better mpg than the C200 Diesel - does anyone know if that's true? thanks Ian

They've told me about the other unit, but I was uncertain how it worked - would I annoy Albert by going straight to Paul? Listening to Albert talk about his work on the pagodas makes me wonder if he can be fully up to speed on COMAND and DPF, but I'm willing to stick with him if he is? They...

Hi Ian I love Albert & Andrew - they are an acquired taste but have saved me hundreds by identifying annoying faults like a handbrake cable that was making an infuriating noise which 2 other garages had failed to identify - they did it without asking (which they tend to do) but for £1.15 (I kid...

After 5 happy years in my W203 Estate it reached 200k miles so I decided to sell it and upgrade - as I sit here I'm waiting for an eBay idiot to come and waste my time, but beggars can't be choosers, and with that high a mileage and bodywork with scratches, flaky paint and a couple of bruises it...
