    W124 E250 diesel sallon, 1993

MOT'd until July 30th 2009, taxed until feb(I think) next year, just run in at 204k. Its never used any oil/water in the 20 months I've had it. Its an E250 multivalve diesel on a L plate. Leather trim, auto, only faults, some rust spots from stone chips, the rear of the bootlid has been sprayed...

    Car Seized for no Insurance

I needed to mot a vehicle last week that had been off the road for about a year, therefore no tax either. If you prebook a MOT with a local garage and drive a direct route there and back, you can drive an untaxed vehicle on the road, but you need insurance. AS a HGV driver I wasn't going to take...

    Crash in Leicestershire

Its a tragic case. I work for the same company as the artic involved. The driver wasn't from our depot, but from a local one, but its what everyone has been talking about. The general opinion is, if it was one of us driving, we wouldn't be back behind the wheel of a HGV anytime soon. I think I...

    Veg Oil

I've been running my W124 E250 on 100% cooking oil. Over the winter i had no problems starting, but it was sluggish for the first mile or so. I've had the usual fuel leaks now all sorted, and i blocked a new fuel filter in a 1000 miles. I've also had the mysterious running out of fuel problem...

Credit crunch sparks new British caravan craze

Quite agree, we used ours on a lot of rallies, my kids were always watched by at least 30 pairs of eyes. They grew up with our friends in our caravan club, and we are still good friends with some of them now. I bought my first van at 19:D , then went back to trailer tents, then back to caravans...

Credit crunch sparks new British caravan craze

The majority of caravanners are retired, they only have a limited income. When their fuel bill goes up 30%, something has to give, use the 'van or upgrade, higher payments and not use it as much. Most of the people in this group use their vans on rallies rather than proper caravan sites, so no...

    A worrying Development

Is it just me, or is any one else finding it harder to finish the fuel pump on an exact figure? I always seem to go at least a penny over now.

    A worrying Development

I'm probably just paranoid about ID theft, comes of being burgled 18 monjths ago, and having all the paperwork pinched aswell. I can't actually remember the last time i filled up at anywhere other than a major supermarket, I just don't trust smaller petrol stations with my cards. It used to bug...

    A worrying Development

I hate, and refuse to hand my card over before paying for fuel. I'll just go elsewhere. Whats to stop someone copying your numbers of the card, and your security code of the rear and using it online? I must admit, our local tesco and Asda have the pay at pump option, I always use these as there...
