After three months of soul searching, I'm putting my E55K estate up for sale and asking £7,500 due to mileage. Key details below, I am still struggling to get decent photos of the interior and am somewhat disappointed with photos of the exterior - I don't think the poor light levels here...

Its all about the tyres and the tread pattern they have for me, hence I think winters are the thing to have. I picked up a cheap set of used wheels and very low mileage winter tyres for my E55 and have used them through the last two winters. To be fair it wasn't much of a winter last year...

I have my E55 converted to LPG, it runs very well, but in spite of having two vapourisers, if I really go for it, it does kick back to petrol. I suspect the limitation is flow rate further back, but I'm not an engineer so thats guessing. That said, I can go plenty fast enough for day to day...

Did your friend find a decent estate in the end? I'm having a dilemma at the moment around mine and whether it should stay or go, probably not one for your friend due to mileage which is why I am wondering if it's time to offload or just bite the cost bullet and stay with the smiles...

I had the guys at Eurochgarged fit one to my estate back in July, I have no doubt it improves things but honestly haven't p[ushed the car ahrd enough to figure out how much better it is. In part it was to improve the traction situation in the poor weather / winter. I'll be finding out soon...

+1 I tried pagid pads on my E55 with the same result, I just couldn't live with the squealing. Sent them back and fitted OE pads, problem solved. Won't be making that mistake again. Sometimes, you really do get what you pay for.

Just to add to this, I fitted Arnott rears to my E55 about a year back when I was having problems. I have had no issues at all since and I managed to fit myself. I bought them from P38spares who are a UK outfit - originally a RangeRover specialist, but they seem to carry a wide range of air...

I tried Pagid pads and discs for my E55K.... the pads were so bad that I had them replaced with Merc ones a week later. Discs have been pretty good, so it may be that if you want to save on pads go for the Textar. Worth noting the garage (Independent) had a nightmare trying to fit the wear...

When I bought my W211 E55 last year, I put an MBU-3000 unit in and it works fine with my work iphone. Not cheap but it seemed like the best option available that I could find at the time.
