It's the one at the bottom, it doesn't look right and when the engines on it doesn't spin balanced and it sounds like the knocking noise is coming from there

    Air con pump - cls55

Finished washing my car this afternoon and when I started it up to move it back on the drive it made a Big Bang noise and then a really bad knocking. At closer inspection it looks like the pulley is knackered on the air con pump. Tried to take a picture but it's not very obvious. The cars...

55 AMG miles per gallon (boring)

I tend to get around 14mpg, sometimes up to 24 on a run though. Although my cars not used that much so when I do use it I like to remind myself of the power! I've had the secondary cats removed and the silencer removed, not sure if his would make a difference

    Cls55 supercharger rebuild

Thanks for the replies, I've been in contact with powerhouse automotive and they say they can't do it or source the parts, recommended I had a look at some American companies. However the person working on my car has split my supercharger and it removing the rear bearings (they're the ones...

    Cls55 supercharger rebuild

I've just sent Msl an email, everyone else I've been recommended doesn't do them. Can't find a kit anywhere, not even Mercedes themselves. my option at the moment is to buy a second hand one, but for the price of them it's a big gamble for something that also may not work! Starting to get sick...

    Cls55 supercharger rebuild

A few weeks ago I was in my car over Cumbria way and (stupidly) went through a puddle a little too deep. Luckily my engines fine but the water must of dried out all the bearings etc in the supercharger as when you turn it over by hand you can hear and feel them. And when the engine is running it...

    Cls55 supercharger rebuild

Thanks for the links, still unsure on where to buy the bits from. The lad who's removed the supercharger for me has found someone in the north east local to me that's going to look at it for me. Although from what he's said it doesn't sound good for me as mines had water in it and the lad...

Will coilovers designed for w211 amg fits CLS55 amg?

I have removed the airmatic suspension off my cls55 and replaced it with w211 rear control arms and the bc coilovers, had no trouble at all! Although every time I start the car I get an error message saying see workshop due to it, but press any button on the steering wheel and it disappears

    My CLS55 AMG

Little update, Brabus wheels are off the car again due to bald tires and being ruined by leaving them dirty while on the Rico rally! Plan on getting these refurbed again over winter. My window regulators gone again, I bought a cheap alternative from China but it's not lasted very long so I'm...

How Low is your Car? (Aimed mostly at CLS owners)

Looks good! Didn't think 18"s would look that good on a cls with it being a big car but they look spot on. Amo, not sure how much you've looked into coils but when changing from airmatic to them you need to replace your rear arms with some from an e class or cls with springs from factory. I...

How Low is your Car? (Aimed mostly at CLS owners)

I think with that size tire on you may get away with it, depending on the height of he car. Not sure how easy or hard it is to add camber.

How Low is your Car? (Aimed mostly at CLS owners)

I had a few Peugeot 106's fun little cars to drive! My merc is my current car, I've always loved the cls but could afford the insurance on one a few years ago so I went for the cc, similar shape to the cls but a lot cheaper to insure! As soon as I could afford to insure a cls I traded the cc...

How Low is your Car? (Aimed mostly at CLS owners)

I've lowered my cls55 two different ways, First off on airrex aftermarket air suspension, sold as direct fit but it wasn't and I had a bad experience with it. Wouldn't recommend it although in my opinion the car looked it best on it! Secondly, I removed the airrex rubbing and purchased a set...
