What are the first suspension parts that need replacing/refreshing? (W212)

The first things to go for me were the rear springs somewhere after 200,000, then shortly after that 2 front bushes, can't remember which but easy job then 2 front drop links at 350,000 apart from that all original. I did have to have a hole in the rear sub frame welded though :-/

    W213 Suspension Issues

Hi All, thank you for your suggestions. The issue now appears to be fixed by replacing the valve block. The full list of codes on my iCarSoft reader were:- In the ADS (Adaptive Damping System) section: C153A13, The Left Front Level Control Valve Has A Malfunction. There Is An Open Circuit...

    W213 Suspension Issues

Thank you, I think I will have to start chasing parts. Problem is around here, especially this time of year it’s probably going to be 2-3 weeks before I can get it onto a star, by that time I will have lost enough work to have paid for the valve block, compressor and more and then have to pay...

    W213 Suspension Issues

While driving a few days ago, seems to have moved from the back to the front, lowering the back and raising the front. I now have about 4 cm wheel arch clearance on the back and around 7 to 8 cm at the front.

    W213 Suspension Issues

It doesn’t seem to be losing any height when left, so I would be very surprised if it was a leak. Also, if it were a leak with no other problem with the compressor, not be trying to make up for it?

    W213 Suspension Issues

Thank you for replying, The malfunction is displayed pretty much immediately and the pump is not engaging at all. I’m thinking if it were an issue with the pump then I would get a different diagnostic message?

    W213 Suspension Issues

Evening all, Having a bit of trouble with my suspension on my E350d. A couple of days ago on the motorway I had a message come up, car with up arrow and 'Malfunction, See Owner's Manual'. I plugged in my iCarsoft reader and it showed 'The Left Front Level Control Valve Has A Malfunction...

iCarSoft CR Pro or MB V3.0?

I had an iCarSoft MB V2.0 but it wouldn't do forced regen on my 2009 212 (displayed 'Vehicle Not Supported' even with latest updates), I now need to re-code an injector, am I likely to have more luck with the iCarSoft CR Pro or MB V3.0? is the MB V3.0 the later version? I noted on the website...

    E350 CDI or S350 CDI, Late 2015

Thank's for the info, it's the cost of the suspension components that really scares me, and the fact that you needed to change them at 100,000 miles! Mine on springs has done 344,000 miles and suspension wise all that has been changed in it's life has been 2 rear springs and 2 front bushes and...

    Advice

I change my oil somewhere between 10,000 and the stated 16,000 miles and still runs like a dream with 344,000 on it (when there aren’t other issues). It may be worth putting decent fuel in if possible to keep things running as clean as possible though. I tend to put a tank of V Power every...

    E350 CDI or S350 CDI, Late 2015

Hi all, just wondering what people’s thoughts are. I currently run a 2009 E350 CDI with 344,000 miles and need to change due to council age restrictions (I do private hire work). I have been very pleased with my E350 over the last 6 years and nearly 250,000 miles and want to stick with the...

    P109B Fault code

Hi All, I'm getting a P109B fault code, I have searched but can't find anything conclusive. The car is running cooler than normal, fluctuating between 60 and 80 degrees and doing lots of DPF regens. Seems to be driving ok though, any ideas what may be wrong? I did put some DPF cleaning...

    DPF Cleaning Methods

Unfortunately as the pipe is so long I couldn’t see and had no control of the air line so I had to be careful and hold back a little so just a couple of careful squirts.

Then was the re-fit!. I fitted the bottom mounts loosely to begin with to allow some movement The very worst bit as I expected was next, that was getting the collar on between the CAT and the DPF, this alone took about an hour! Luck I have thin arms as I had to reach up and locate it from...

    DPF Cleaning Methods

After the soak, sprayed out as much as I could with the pressure washer (until I was told off by the wife, it was 9pm) then sloshed in warm water in the bath a few times After this I poured a kettle of boiling water through each way (back to front first, make sure it’s held with an oven glove...

Some pics… Pipe layout for the DPF Pressure Sensor The exhaust end before cleaning, the engine end pipe was too long to see the filter but the pipe was really sooty! Blocked off the end with gloves as suggested (and the pressure sensor hole) but these were a complete waste of time! then...
