    New C-class - Please advise me :)

No traffic is a comm module failure if you have Comand Online. That's what mine went in for last Friday to have fixed (successfully I should say) And interestingly my 5s on Giffgaff decided to connect today. I'd set it all up at home last night but it didn't work. But I had ticked the...

    New C-class - Please advise me :)

Dealer job to the best of my knowledge. When it went to be fixed on Friday they said they'd updated the software. Whether there was a map update, I don't know.

    New C-class - Please advise me :)

One device at a time. I'm not going to mess with APN settings as everything on the phone works fine for everything else and tetheringn to everything else I own. To be honest, tr Internet connectivity in the car does give me anything that would be quicker and easier to actually do on the device...

    New C-class - Please advise me :)

Works with the 5C on EE, not with the 5S on Giffgaff. Looks like it's a Giffgaff/O2 thing then.

    New C-class - Please advise me :)

Useful info. I'll have a bash with my work phone. That's an iPhone 5C but on the same OS version as my 5S. Crucially it's on EE rather than Giffgaff (O2).

    New C-class - Please advise me :)

I'm also on Giffgaff. I've tried with Bluetooth, and with a direct connection using a lightning cable. With the phone hotspot enabled you get a connection established (blue bar at the top of the screen), but the Comand says it can't connect. To be honest, I have little patience with such...

    New C-class - Please advise me :)

When Mercedes fixed it on Friday (no traffic info, comms module failure, and vibrating steering wheel) they said they updated all the software on the car, so I'll have another go at some point. Don't get me wrong, many aspects it's an extremely good car, I'm just a little disappointed with...

    New C-class - Please advise me :)

Just can't get it to connect to the internet through the phone. There's various threads on here and on MBWorld discussing it. Some people have had success, I've not been one of them. Other phones connect fine.

    New C-class - Please advise me :)

Yes, COMAND online in the plus pack. It doesn't show the next move, you need to wait for it to tell you, and I certainly can't find anything in the setting to do it. I don't mean the count down bar either, but a graphic that shows the direction and distance to the next maneovre, like TomTom...

    New C-class - Please advise me :)

Oh, and unless you want the Burmester stereo, I wouldn't bother with the 'Plus' pack. The satnav isn't very good at all. Yes, it has live traffic, but the software is very poor compared to a standard TomTom or Garmin. It's directions can be very confusing and it doesn't show simple things...

    New C-class - Please advise me :)

If there's an optional for a real spare wheel and non-runflat tyres, I'd go for that. That'll make a lot more difference to the noise level. It's not a noisy car, but the standard run flats are.

    New C-class - Please advise me :)

The suspension on the AMG trim is good, but the tyres are shocking. Noisy and harsh riding run-flats. I can't get comfy in the seat either, it's too narrow for me and the side bolsters dig into my hips on long journeys. The black headlining can be oppressive, but you get used to it. Having...

'Turn Half Left' quirk at roundabouts on new C-Class with Command Satnav

Yes, I'm less than impressed. I spec'd the Premium Plus package pretty much to get satnav with live traffic. On a three week old car the traffic has stopped working and the nav is worse than a £200 TomTom. Add that to the lessened headroom with the glass roof, and the unbelievably...

'Turn Half Left' quirk at roundabouts on new C-Class with Command Satnav

Mine does the same. It's like it doesn't recognise big motorway junctions as roundabouts, but roads that go in a large circle. I've taken to having the display zoomed out enough such that I can see the route around the junction completely and ignoring the spoken directions. A quick glance at...

    Mercedes Me

It is, but, as far as the W205 C-class goes, only if you have a hybrid. I guess because it can use battery power to run the heater, and not the engine. Not a whole heap of proving in my case. I got the car, registered on the site, and then toddled off to the dealer. They asked me for my...

    Brake Hold

I brake to a stop, then give the pedal a firm push. As I'm getting used to it, the pressure of the firm push is getting less and less.

    W205 Ordered Today

It's actually filthy, having been driven here from the suppling dealer 80 miles away. The red hides it well. I'm a bit of a detailing nut, so it'll generally be pretty shiny :-)

Woo, new car just been dropped off by the delivery driver. C220 AMG Premium Plus with privacy glass and black ash in Hyacinth Red.

    W205 Ordered Today

Some of the guys over on the JagInfo.org forum have had very good results in getting interior trim plastidipped by Garnish - Its all in the finish. So that might be an option. Note: I have no affiliation with them, nor have I used their service, so can't vouch directly for the quality.

C220 CDi Or C250 CDI - Advice please

Drove the 250 first. Granted it did the 'thrash it on the motorway slip road' slightly quicker, but not much more than 220 that I'd care. Anyway, it's the 220 that's arriving next week so if I'm going to worry about it, I'll worry in two years when the lease is up! :-) What was nice, was that...
