I have recently acquired a nice 1990 190 carburetor. It has one problem. Occasionally it will cut out or stall when running (usually at speed) and then refuse to re-start for a minute or so.
I have traced the problem to the shut off system. If I disconnect the electrical feed...
Having successfully re-coloured all the instrument needles in the main binnacle, I noticed the secondary 16 valve instrument console had nice bleached needles too.
So I thought I'd re-colour these too. A few screws out and the console came out neatly, then a few more and no problem getting...
So my central locking works fine if I use the key on the passenger side but if I use the key on the drivers side it only does that door and does not activate the central locking, the same happens if I look the door from the inside.
I thought it may be the actuator so went into the door and...

My 2.5 16 is lovely but the exhaust is really too refined and I'd like something with a greater amount of rasp, bass and zing. Any simple aftermarket options? No desire to de-cat.

Has anyone on replaced floor panels on a W201? or knows if the floor
panels on 1988 are the same on 1989 (face lift) models.
Can not obtain the 1989 offside parts from Mercedes.

My MOT threw up a problem with some welding work with the rear jacking point on the 190E 2.5 16 I bought last year. An inspection today revealed that whoever repaired it welded a plate over a rusty jacking point, the plate has now completely corroded revealing a very crusty jacking point area...
1 owner car before me, bags of history and drove really well was sad to see it go but needed to free up the space. Only negative was some separation of the rear door cards. Worth a punt if anyone is in the market:
