Can you disable the 1st gear bypass on a W124 4-speed

Would like to fee the car properly go through each gear from a crop, instead of the sluggish 2nd gear take-off. Any clever advise of how to have the car start from 1st gear every time? Thanks.

    Has anyone put a 5-speed auto in a 4-speed W124 E320?

Is it a straight swap? I've had two w124s, one an estate with the 5-speed auto, and my current '93 E320 with a 4-speed box. The tranny might be starting to slip a bit, so I'm thinking: can I do a swap to a 5-speed rather than rebuilding mine? Thanks in advance for any advice!

W124 4-speed Auto issues... Any ideas???

But that doesn't seem...

    1997 SL500 4-speed?

Hi folks, I am looking to purchase an SL500 registered in Aug 1997. I did an rac check on it by supplying the reg plate. The report states that its a 4 speed Auto. Shouldnt it be a 5 speed auto? It does have the following gear selections available on the gearshift: 1>2>3>4:D Thanks
