Hi ALL,
I have 02 CLK with factory fitted DX sat nav. has been working fine up till now. It now seems to have lost its GPS signal and is giving a completely faulty location when I press the MAP function. When I try and program in a destination it starts directing me from where it thinks the...
My 55 C220 CDi failed MOT yesterday due to noisy / excessive play near side front wheel bearings.
The vehicle test station, my local branch of a national AA approved service centre, offered to replace said wheel bearings at a cost of 129 pounds (plus the 54 pounds test fee.)
I queried the...
There is a noise coming from what sounds like a wheel bearing on my W124 300TE. I replaced the front wheel bearings today thinking that could be the only problem but the droning continues. It used to be louder so it could be a combination of factors.
Any idea where else this noise could be...
Hi,
Anyone out there?
I am currently on a road trip at the Nurburgring, Germany.
I have noticed some rumbling from my front Passenger side that i believe could be Front wheel bearings.........
Are these adjustable?
Will they last my journey back?
Although i work in a Mechanics world, i...
Just had some tires changed today and the front left wheel as a teeny wobbly feeling. We tried to take out the bearing cap/ hub to look at it but no luck, it didn't move. Before taking the hammer and bash it to move it out of the way, is there an easiest way to do it?
Cheers.

A couple of questions:
W202 Front Wheel Camber Adjustment
When I have the 18's fitted (briefly) the RHS front just rubs the wheel-arch. Some crude measurements using straight edges up to the wheel arch shows that the RHS wheel sits 6mm further out than the LHS. This equates (roughly) to...
I have recently brought to the attention of MB that the front swivel bearing on the struts of the 'A' Class has only got 16 ball bearings when in fact the cage is built/designed for 32

Good morning all wondering if anyone can help. I have a noise coming from the front offside wheel at very slow speed (parking speed) when i turn the wheel, something like a low rumbling noise. I alsolive in a area with the most lethal speed humps, they are actually smoothed off bricks raised off...
I've got a droning wheel bearing, sounds like a rear one. Are they an easy job to replace? Any special tools needed? Just hoping it isn't the diff but I've changed the oil and no difference. MOT coming up so hopefully the tester can pinpoint which one, even if it isn't a failure point.
Thanks...

Hi
Must admit to being a a bit lax when the car went in for its service (I had a lot on a work and took the main stealer on trust that the work was indeed, very necessary)
Going through car(s) paperwork tonight to check up on MOT dates etc I had a look through what they did when it was in...
Hi Folks,
Just picked my CLK up after having a local indy replace the front wheel bearings and it is a lot better. £219.00 all in so that was not too bad either. They are called PMW in Chelmsfors and I have to say they are a nice bunch.
He noted also that there is some play in the track rods...
I want to change my Brakes and front wheel bearings. At it's last MOT I was told there is a bit of play in them. Looking at the WIS I have for the car it says I need a part to measure the end float. On cars I have changed bearings on before you tighten the hub up the slacken off till it just...
This is basic engineering, and unsuprisingly it has defeated me…. :o
