Bert Trautmann, the German goalkeeper who won the FA Cup with Manchester City in 1956, has died at the age of 89. Trautmann is best remembered for playing the final 17 minutes of City's Cup final win against Birmingham City with a broken neck. R.I.P. LINK.

As reported here. I never used any of his books, but know plenty who did, and they were apparently used by a number of guitarists who made it plenty bigger than me (perhaps that was my mistake)!

The well-respected guitarist and founder of folk group Pentangle died yesterday, aged 67. During his career he worked with musicians as diverse as Jimmy Page, Neil Young and Pete Docherty, and he was counted as an influence by many, including Paul Simon, Bernard Butler and Johnny Marr. BBC...
