Joined the MBC thingy as promised 'technical info' and 'epc / wis' access, plus 'active forum' etc etc well - all the 'docs' on the 202 (and W140) page(s) are old photocopies of magazine articles bar one whinge. The forum is 'dead'. The WIS access requires a completely separate access to the...

The dealer broke my car a bit.

Took my C250cdi for a new rear exhaust box (the baffles had come loose and were rattling), 2 recall jobs - rear light and lock fix and a comand update. No problem, a 40 mile drive in slightly snowy weather over the Cumbrian fells. Dealer starts fixing the car, I go for a nice tasty breakfast...

Drowned S202 runs again - but it's a bit rough

Hello, So I managed to drive my 2000 C200K into quite a lot of water two weeks ago, but after much dismantling and cleaning, it runs. And drives - the gearbox shift module and TCM units seem to have survived. So far... But it sounds like it's missing on a cylinder - it idles like a V8, and...

Hello guys, after buying the car back in July for my Birthday as a treat i had just done my first ever service on my point. My S202 C43 returns from a bit of TLC...

The car was an absolute credit to its previous owners but the paintwork was starting to look a little tired and in need of a refresh, so I got my bodywork man to give it a good polish and two coats of AutoGlym HD Wax. I'll try and get some arty photos tomorrow if I can...

Hi stop me selling on my Merc ( a bit of advice will do it)

Hi all - I bought a very attractive Automatic 1998 C240 a few weeks ago - i've used it every day since. I do like it but it has a couple of what i think are minor issues. It cuts out in traffic and/or very slow speeds. It has a quite jerky gear change ... It has came out of gear twice (i...

Bit of a strange measurement request...

Bear with me I hope this makes some sense. Bought a second hand Vito CDI 108 yr 2002 for Taxi purposes – it was previously being used as a taxi but in a different town with probably smoother roads. I often transport 7 passengers and the rear suspension is proving an absolute nightmare –...

    bit of a whine

I have had my w202 c280 for a few weeks, and covered 1000 miles. I noticed this week a bit of a whine from the front of the car when travelling about 60mph on the straight. it seems to be related to road speed rather than engine speed and it isn't any more noisy on bends. The front tyres are...

You have got to love a bit of Carbon Fibre

Met up with Phil from Rebellion Automotive on Friday, been meaning to catch up with him for some time to have a look/listen to his exhaust for the c63. Firstly I have to say Phil is a thoroughly decent chap, easy going, knowledgeable and obviously very passionate about what he does for a...

    Bit better luck this weekend.....

E200 GCI Avantgard, though still not a facelift model annoyingly. It's nice to experience a petrol motor with an auto box in an E-Class again, even if it's the baby one. Twice I had to check the rev counter to make sure it was running. Surprising amount of poke displayed on the short drive...
