Just had the active bonnet management function warning flash up on my dash board.
I've had no bumps or crashes and it came on whilst driving.
Can anybody shed any light on this ? Is it safe to drive ?
Car is a w212 220 Cdi e class.
Thanks
Dave
Just in case anyone's interested in current prices - just ordered a new key for my W208 CLK 320 at Mercedes Taunton, Somerset - cost is £267. They want my car in the workshop for 15 minutes when the key arrives. Need my V5 and my driving licence.
Whilst I was there I also picked up a new...
Hi all,
I'm new to all things MB but have taken a liking to the C220 CDi estate. I looked around a 2007 model on a forecourt this evening and everything looked good apart from the fit of the bonnet which sat around 5mm high at the front of the wings, possibly just adjustment of the catch but...
Hi everyone.
Just received my MB Club windscreen sticker so I'm officially a member now.:bannana: Just a quick question. As a lot of you will know, I have a W202 C180 Esprit and I have noticed that when it rains I get a lot of steam coming off the bonnet. Is this a normal phenomena? The car...
So it seems the local birds have been eating battery acid and pooped it out on my bonnet. The offending articles were in contact with the paint for a couple of days. On removing the waste, the patches of paint that were hit have gone dull and are not smooth to the touch.
Any tips on how to...
Now that the dust has settled, I wonder if anyone knows if it I possible to get new e-class with a normal grill (no aggressive oversized star) and the classic three pointed star on the bonnet. I realise that it doesn't come from from the showroom like this. I am wondering if can be ordered...
Would anyone like a dark blue W124 bonnet in reasonable condition? I've just bought this one - Mercedes W124 facelift bonnet, needs paint | eBay - for 99p, and I only want it for the sound deadening panel!

Hello ,
I need to replace the Mercedes Star on a facelift 95 w124 coupe.
I noticed on the bay two sizes exist 44mm and 48mm which one is the correct size. Im pretty sure its the 44mm version but would like a confirmation please.
Thanks.
Mines looks a little tired and disintegrating in parts. What's the recommendation to resolve? Do mercedes do a replacement one or is there something better out there?
Scott
Another brilliant innovation that is likely to become a long term pain in the butt!
The premise here is that, if you hit a pedestrian, sensors are triggered and the back of the bonnet rises by 50mm at the far corners to cushion the impact. Not hit anyone (or anything) yet in 30 years of...
Could someone please help me with an advice to get rid of a tricky situation?
After the cold spell I used my electronic key to open the car. As there were no response, I had to use the metallic part of the key and opened the door manually...
Hello
A few months ago some low life pulled off my star on the front and back of the car..
Has anyone who has replaced there star with a flat badge got one available?

Does anyone know any breakers who specialize in AMG parts as I'm looking to buy a C63 bonnet. Rear LED lights, front HID's (if they are compatible) & 19" wheels for my 2009 C250 CDi Sport. Also looking to get a hold of carbon mirrors too.
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers
Wayne.
It's no secret that the C63 is prone to a significant rise in oil temperature during spirited driving. Temperatures of 130 Celsius are often seen.
It is not surprising that the Black Series has a significant increase in its oil cooler. It's not practical to start playing around with fitting...
Some scrote has yanked the bonnet star off my car overnight. Nasty malicious and pointless thing to do, felt like a real personal affront.
The housing doesn't seem to be damaged as far as i can tell - presumably it's designed so it is fairly easily removable for safety reasons, though the link...
