broken or faulty

Does anyone know how easy is it to replace the mechanism for the elecrtic windows in a 124 coupe - it appears from the sound that either a tooth or two has broken off the rack or else it has become worn as the window only goes up by 95% - the last 5% it clicks and doesn't seal (driver's side)...
