W203 C240, 2001 build, approx 73,000 miles.
Driving home last evening, no warning signs of any problems, the engine just suddenly cut out.
I tried to restart it and the engine turned over but would not start.
Very good service from RAC -they came out last night but could not get it going again...
I just bought Mrs TheBook a new car (new for her) after trading in the A Class. I ended up buying a warranty for the replacement car and it is through Car Care Plan.
I can't help but feel I have been stitched up but with the problems we faced with the A Class didn't want to go through that...
Anybody got experiance of this package.
I estimate a set of tyres is going to last approx 18 mths and at £800 to replace + servicing this don't sound a bad deal or are my maths totally wrong?
Does anyone have experience of using these products from LLT ?
There seems to be two distinct camps on the detailing forums. One advocating conditioners such as Gliptone the other saying they (conditioners) are ineffective, harmful even and promoting cleaners and protectants such as LLT products.
Dear All,
I have recently purchased a C350 from the local Mercedes-Benz dealer in Abu Dhabi City in the United Arab Emirates. The local dealer is called "Emirates Motor Company", and this dealer is the official and approved Mercedes-Benz dealer for the capital Abu Dhabi. I have bought the C350...
Not when you have the chance to drive on roads like we have up here. To celebrate one year of having her in my life I decided a small but worthy drive was in order. I would have gone further but the weather looked iffy and I couldn't be bothered putting more fuel in it-thats for tomorrow on the...
You may recall this thread where I detailed that I went to court as a prosecution witness following a road accident that happened in front of me late 2007.
Well, sentencing was undertaken on 6 October, and I received an update today. It turns out the charge always was "driving without due care...
Can anyone recommend a good leather care product? At the moment I use Gliptone, of which I have nearly run out. I chose this because it claims to reinstate the smell of the leather, although what you get is an approximation towards the leather smell, which is not entirely convincing.

I just had a CD Changer installed from these guys on my E320. Brilliant work i must say.
They dropped me off at the train station and picked me up from it to collect my car.
A big thanks to Jason whom installed it.
To anyone in Leeds. Fully recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just bought one of these and its lovely and I want to keep it that way :). Can you give me some advice on the general maintenance that I will need to do? (apart from check water, oil etc..).
Is there anything which is a common fault on these cars? And as its getting close to 100k in mileage...
How should I care for my leather steering wheel? I am conscious that this is a difficult area as grip is paramount. But I feel I should do something to care for the leather.
My wheel feels slghtly sticky (good for grip) but with my sweaty paws on it 2hrs a day I don't like the feel.
Any...
Just got my 94 300D back. They took the car in because of slipping gears (auto) they rebuilt the box for £550. The Mechanic called me on a regular basis and on one occasion he told me that they had done a check on the car and found that the ABS was faulty which would cost at a worse case...
I'm the new owner of a softtop (I've not had much use out of it recently), and I just wondered if I had to do anything special to look after it? Do I need special stuff to clean it? Do I need to protect it in the winter?! Are there any obvious tips I should know?
You can spend thousands on alloy wheels but what is the best way to clean and protect them from brake dust, road salt ect
What products do you use to clean and protect your alloys.
What are the best products to use on Leather seats? I would like to keep the dull matt finish as it is now! Seats are black, also is it worth treating the leather or is best just left as it is?
