    CCTV Digital Recorder

I have CCTV with 1 camera. It has failed to record images. The supplier/installer came and looked at the recorder and said the hard drive had gone. A friend tried the recorder on a PC and you could hear it turning. Would this suggest the hard drive is ok and that the problem is something else?

    Mobile CCTV Camera & Memory?

Does anyone have a clue as to what would be a cost-effective system for, say, a 12v (car friendly) small camera (solid state?) and memory system? I am looking for something that would record the last 5 minutes of images and then write-over - ideally that could be dash-mounted and with (usb?)...
