Couple of years ago while camping I managed to flat the battery of my W204 coupe by just charging the phones while camping in Spain. I know how stupid that sounds but I could not find a way to just enable the cigarette lighter in the cabin without all sorts of other bits and pieces coming on at...
Hi All,
I'm new to this site, out of all the Merc sites this seems the best for information!
Anyway, I've got a facelift C220 Sport 125 Edition and the genuine iphone lightning cable wont charge the 5s. I think its because the 5s needs 12v but the usb in the arm rest only gives out...
Model.... E Series 320 CDi 04 plate ( just about to celebrate its 10th birthday!)
A small problem re:
Battery Charging....
Having been recommended ( by Indy Merc. Mechanic) to buy a battery charger, and reading the instructions, I learn that for safety reasons one is supposed to remove...
So the SL55 has 2 batteries, different sizes too. Normally on other cars, when not in use, I hook up a CTEK battery conditioner to keep the battery healthy.
If I do this to the front battery; will this keep both batteries fully charged without anything going bezerk??
So, I came to another dead end, and need your peopleses help.
My 126 is scheduled for its air conditioning maintenance run, but the air con tech dude took the valve cover off and looked confused. He then said that although they stock the correct gas/chemicals to retrofit into older cars, they...
My 03 SL 350(R230) will be parked up for 2-3weeks i a carpark while i'm away at work. I'm after fitting a solar charger to it.
Does the cigarette lighter socket charge the aux battery?(i know you have to make the fuse permanent live)
Or how else would i get the battery connected through to...
Car is up for sale due to being replaced, I've got the starter battery under trickle charge from a Lidel "C-Tek" type charger so no issues there.
Issue is I've had it sitting for nearly 3 months like this, or will have by the time I re-advertise it in January.
Do I need to do anything with...
Is there a way of increasing the charging rate to the rear battery in my SL?
And would this be a good idea anyway, given that it is a battery designed for low-mid current use, not high current use, like the front engine/starter battery? I'm thinking too much charging amperage might create...
My C220 quit charging. I replaced the voltage regulator on the alternator with an OEM Bosch which marked 14V on it. After installation, the alternator worked, I put the multi-tester probes on battery terminals and found that the charging was pretty stable, the cut out was 13.2V-DC. Is this...
It all started on a glorious Saturday morning...
Dropped the car off to be serviced (B service, oil and filters) at a Mercedes Dealer (35 mile drive was fantastic) with instructions to check the battery performance and to replace if necessary as the car still has the original battery. I asked...
My A140 would'nt start yestaday and for the last few days has seemed sluggish trying to start, so l put a voltmeter on it and it read 10.8v:eek:, l took it off and charged it all afternoon and after being on charge for 10 hours checked the cells while it was still charging and all but one cell...
I have had a '54 E270 CDI for a couple of years and ever since I bought it I have occassionally had 'Battery Protection, Convenience functions temporarily disabled'. This could occur at any time, not often at startup but often in hot weather in traffic, but usually cleared after a few minutes...
Please dont laugh at me if this is a silly question !
Does connecting a battery charger to the main battery also charge the convenience battery ? I can't see how it can and imagine the car simply needs to be run for a bit to achieve that but I am just curious.
does anyone know if its ok to charge/trickle charge the battery whilst connected to the car ie not dissconnecting it first. I was worried it may cause problems:dk:
Car is a 2012 E350 cdi cab. Doest get used much hence the need for charging it.
Any input appreciated.
Hi everyone,
A quick question....
I work away and leave my car standing for two weeks at a time, is there anything that drains the battery down over this length of time and would one of those solar powered trickle chargers jobbies be ok for my Cls 500 or would this effect anything in the...
We have just bought a new Samsung laptop. Marvellous thing it is too. Windows 8 is rather good actually.
Anyway. i have read the manual but can find no mention as to how long you should leave the battery on charge for during it's first charge
What's the general consensus on this...
On trying to trace the problem with ABS brakes I decided to check the charge voltage from the Alternator. It reads 16.13 volts. I am sure this is high which to my mind points to a faulty OVP relay. It would explain the ABS light being on and the reluctant starting. Can anybody tell me what the...
My 58 plate e280 air con doesn't seem especially cold. As the car is only 3 and a half years old I can't see it being a charging issue. Or could it? Never had to on any other car I've had before (cars that were older), anyone else had similar problems?
Only had the car for a month so I don't...
