Very near to purchase of a cl500 215
Although no signs of any problems on the 2 I'm considering 60kand70k miles showing. Can a reasonably experienced home mechanic work on the abc systems? Ie could I replace the pump or struts myself or is it all permanently pressurised etc
Is there a mileage...
After placing a thread previously regarding non-functionality of the rear cabin elec window switches and front seat lumbars, I have come to the following conclusions:
1). Rear elec window switches - All wires on the RH door hinge check out okay, but after removing the rear ashtray, I can see an...
Hello all.
After just picking up my 2005 CL500, I have two small electrically related problems with it... the first one really is quite confusing.
1. The rear electric window switches (in the rear cabin) do not light up or work the rear windows. The rear windows can be controlled with the...
Hi all.
After a spell of VW and Audi vehicles, I decided 3 years back to try MB and I wasn't disappointed.
After purchasing a 1-owner 2002 CLK230K with FMBSH, it performed 100% faultlessly over the 25000 miles.
Converted, I have just purchased this 2005 CL500. Just 2 owners, FMBSH and only 80k...

Gentlemen
I have seen on "You Tube" that our American friends can get their broken gear selectors rebuilt good as new. Is such a service available in the UK?
I am puzzled by finding these two apparently uninsulated wires just behind the headlamp assembly. They look purposefully uninsulated and come out of plastic tubes (more like an accelerator cable for instance) but terminate in an electrical connector.
See picture. Can someone explain what the...
Hi,
Thinking about buying another toy.
Mercedes CL 500 or 600, price bracket £5-£10k, seems quite a few out there, lower miles preferred.
What should I be looking out for?
What goes wrong?
What are the model/spec change times?
Are there important bits I should look for in spec list?
How do...
So I moved the CL500 off the drive as I needed to change the ABS sensor from my Lexus IS300, changed that and really pleased as it worked a treat...
then brought the Citroen C5 2.2HDi just for a typical service oil, filters etc... finished that and really pleased too.
I then went to move the CL...
Hello all. A friend of mine is short listing potential options for a new car and a cl500 is one of them.
If anyone here has something for sale at circa 7k budget let me know!
Thanks as ever.
Hello, I am wondering if someone can help or has done similar to myself, After having removed the ABC suspension struts and replacing them with conventional struts I have obviously eradicated the need for the ABC system.
One of the ABC lines and also the ABC part of the dual abc/power...
Had my 2002 CL500 for about a year and a half now. over the last couple of months there has been a low rumbling sound coming from the rear of the car. Had Merc do a health check and they said the bearings were all ok they did not run it on the road. I replaced the rear diff (second hand) the...

Hello guys,
After having the CL.. one month of not moving her, just starting her up once a week to make sure the battery is OK.
I took her out for a spin today and ... hhmmm once I came back and put her on the driveway I could hear something like a hamster wheel from the engine bay...
I found...
Hi. I have a non-bose CL500. Firstly , I cannot find the amplifier in the boot, next to the cd changer. Nothing there, but the sub does play. I was wondering if I could just plug-in a bose amp into the D2B fibre optic system and replace the stock speakers with bose speakers. Would it be worth...
