Guys - looking for some advice here... How big a job is changing the crankshaft pulley ( also known as harmonic balancer ) on E55 W210. How much should a good indy charge / how many hours labour is this. Is this something that requires special instructions around torquing the crank bolt...

I have a '98 C240 which has one of the dodgy crankshaft pulleys. The part number which you can see on the pulley is A112 035 00 00. Apparently this number along with A112 035 06 00 was subject to a recall in the States due to the outer metal rim coming off the inner one... there is an elastomer...

is it true that a .5mm shim is required when fitting the cps on a 1993 s500 coupe... if so why was this not done at the factory...

Smelt burning then heard a clicking noise.. Bottom crankshaft pulley damper broke up Going to order new bottom pulley & v - belt tormorrow.. My mate owns the local garage, says it's a common fault and i was lucky that the bottom pulley went back rather through the rad etc reckons...
