Hi. I have just been given a 96 E300D for free due to the fact that it has a really bad missfire. Basically it will start fine but it missfires badly making the whole car judder....the car will drive but acceleration is very very slow. and after running the engine for any amount of time...

There is a disc shaped chamber on top of the diesel pump, this has an adjuster with lock nut under a black plastic cover, what is this adjust. Does anyone know what this is for and how to adjust it ? Phil

My E300 diesel is surging on tickover, the more load I put on the worse it gets, so putting the lights on makes it do it slightly where as putting the air-con on make it surge up and down really badly. Is this electrical :confused: I've just changed the ovp relay, sadly that fault was hiding...

ok so i had my manifold off at the weekend (write up to follow when i have time) and changed plugs, cleaned it out (unbelievably grimey!), plugged EGR and changed the fuel lines. also got a new battery. it all went back together ok and runs fine and starts better so im happy with the work...
