My 97 E420 esatate flies but I notice that on hard kickdown there is a delay of about a second or two before it really shifts - is this normal? I have removed one cat due to breakage is this the cause? Thanks
E420 estate '96 - one cat has broken ceramics - my mechanic has removed the bits - I am told it costs a fortune to replace. Any ideas? Will it fail the next MOT with one CAT only in place? Will it do any harm running like this?

its on german ebay but the seller claims its a 4.2 v8. is this true as i thought the v8 was in the e500.
