flooring

As per the thread title, we are thinking about having our hall floor done in a vinyl and have a couple of questions to people in the trade.

We've just had 35 m2 of good quality engineered flooring laid across lounge and study. It's about 20mm overall thickness with a 5mm oak veneer. The guys removed all the old skirting, glued the tongue and groove with PVA and laid it on existing floorboards with the recommended foam sheets...

I have 3 pallets of reclaimed hardwood (Oak, possibly Beech) parquet flooring which I bought for my hall and lounge/diner but haven't got round to cleaning/fitting it due to a lack of time. In all there should be 30-40 sq m allowing for some waste/scrappage. Looking for £150. Buyer collects

On the odd rare occassion, i have floored the accelerator from standsill... the car takes off, but once it reaches the redline/rev limiter it doesn't seem to want to change up a gear unless i back off the accelerator. This being my 1st auto, is this how it should be ie normal?
