Hi, i posted a thread a few weeks ago asking if there was a cheap way to convert to Xenon. Didn't get much of a reply. Anyway, a few weeks on and i have converted my W211 from standard Halogen to Xenons and they work fantastic. Pics will follow naturally but the sun is shining and i'll wait til...
I am going to have my replacement bulb today late evening. I am keen to replace it straight away. I need some light! :)
But I am not sure it is feasible. There is 10,000V I think and manual says - dont do it yourself.
And for me it is quite a problem to go to garage - I leave home at 7:45...
I was driving home from work one day and while overtaking a truck I heard a sound like a bomb going off, I didn't see any damage to the windscreen so assumed whatever it was had bounced off. When I got home I saw a hole the size of a golfball in the left headlamp lens! :(

Forgive me if this has been raised before but i am looking to upgrade my headlights to HID's on my CLK '99. Is this quite a straightforward operation or will it require significant re-wiring? :confused:
Brand new osram D2S proper xenon bulb (only for cars with proper HID lighting) cost over £100 from stealers.
worth keeping as a spare as even tho they are supposed to last the lifetime of your car, they are known to blow within 3 years!

Excuse the ignorance for a moment,it's only cus I dont know much about the subject (halogen born and bred) But is there a difference or does it mean the same with the lights
