insulating

Would the above help mpg much if I covered filter with the foil insulation used behind domestic radiators? After a 7 mile drive yesterday the filter was tepid at best and with the colder weather and viscous fan in that area I wonder if insulating would be worth it and be safe now and in summer etc..
