I've just seen a performance MERC red line constantly to 7000rpm at standstill as if it were normal. Does red lining not damage the car in some way?

Message on dash says Brake lining wear visit workshop. Does that mean I need new front disk pads or rear or all four? Any help in what sort to buy would be much appreciated. SL 500 2002

My current roof lining is grey in colour and i want it to be black. The current material is similiar to the vinyl on the doors so im wondering if i can be painted/dyed/connolised? If not, then ill just get it re-trimmed.
