ornament

So, I kind of never really understood this. Whats the deal with the Mercedes badges? Why do some cars of seemingly the same age/platform have hood ornaments, and some just have a badge? Somebody once explained to me that basically, Benz had a destination between 'sporty' cars and 'luxury' cars...

I know it has been discussed several times, however I do not seem to find what I want in the threads. Is there a UK company that sells the star ornament, someone broke it (kids apparently) from my W124 pre facelift salloon. I want to replace it. Do I need to buy the whole grill? It does not...

I believe this is the same process for all models with the upright ornament as the part number is the same for all. Open the bonnet, turn the clamp underneath the ornament 90 degrees and then gently lift the ornament out of the recess. To install a new ornament please read...
