Does anyone know if just the valve can be replaced or does the TPM also have to be replaced if the valve is leaking?

I would like to test whether my fuel pump works or not. I took off the delivery pipe from the pump and I cranked the engine, many times, while I had my finger on the delivery side. The pump was delivering fuel but there was hardly any pressure. Is this right?

Guys We can't get the pressure sphere undone (seriously tight). Heat will be a no no due the risk of melting other bits. Has anybody found a way of loosening these?
