I have CarismA alloys on my w124 230CE that are beyond the help of wonder wheels et al. My dilema is should I replace them or have them refurbished? Replacement of a similar style would cost £500 plus but refurbishment would be £160 for all 4 wheels.
My W124 wheels are in dire need of a reburb':o , yet I've seen these which whilst 16" instead of my current 15" look almost identical. They mention a part number of 1294000102 which doesn't seem to be valid on Inchcapes site. At the current level looks like a better deal than refurbing my...
Hi
I have seen several posts re wheel refurbs but none for my neck of the woods essex! (no essex boy jokes please) does any one have any contacts in this area who can refurb wheels back to original MB spec?
One of my wheels is starting to look shabby. The laquer is coming off, turns out the wheels been refurbed by the previous owner, so needs some attention.
My options are:-
Have the wheel refurbed again.
Buy a replica wheel i.e...
Hi,
Just to add more to the pile of posts on the 124 estate self leveling system I have a few questions. Unlike some I'm happy to persevere with the system as I use the car to lug stuff about and have recently replaced the tandem hydraulic pump that powers both the steering and self leveling...
I have bought AMG Styling 4 2pc replicas but the rim of the alloy is slightly corroded.
I want to get it sorted and came accross this, http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=3949&highlight=refurb
The damage on them allys are similar to mine, is it quiet easy to get the finish as...

What colour should they be refurbished/painted , and should they be finished with laquer?
The finish is chrome silver I think ?

I spoke to the owner this morning and asked if he could do my AMG III alloys.
He is very knowledgeable and experienced, and they come very highly recommended from classic car owners throughout the UK. He showed me 250 Ferrari wheel caps he just made for a classic Italian car dealer in Italy ...
Just bought a 1998 230SLK with Red & Black leather. The trim panel around the handbrake area is showing black specks coming through the red coating due to use as armrest. What is the method of recoating this without having to replace with new item, is it a simple aerosol spray or not?
Have managed to find a local tyre dealer who does wheel refurb for a decent price. Have sent one wheel of to see what job they make of it so will post before and after pics when it comes back next week. £55 per wheel, which I thought was good for strip, repair, powder coat and laquer.
i've a 92k 320ce with original 8 hole wheels - i'd like to get them refurb'd - in Nr Pontefract, West Yorks.
Can anybody recommend a good local company?
thanks Simon.
Providing one's wheels are looked after (eg not kerbed, regularly cleaned), is it possible to estimate how long alloys will last after a refurb before they start to go again?
Or is that a numpty question? :o
I have four AMG Style II alloys for sale.
2 x 7.5J ET35 Part Number HWA2024000302
2 x 8.5J ET30 Part Number HWA2024010102
Last year I had these refurbished to absolute A1 condition. I had the wheels painted all over (no diamond cut lip any more) by choice as I wanted to avoid problems...
Just got my wheels back from BJV Engineering. I had the centres finished in bright/sterling silver and the edges diamond cut.

To be critical the centres of the wheels could have been finished slighly better but a discount was given so can't complain. :D
