C63 How loud is too loud? confused!

So picked up a C63 AMG today with performance pack and LSD. Love it and looking forward to getting to know the car. When I did the deal a week or so ago I started looking at C63 vids on youtube and found resonator deletes, cat deletes and full exhaust systems and now I am confused. I...

Would a CLK230K benefit from resonator delete?

Hi all Question as per the title. I'm about to pick up a cheap CLK230K (1998) as a bit of a run around and was wondering what kind of effect (if any) that taking out the centre box would have? Better noise? Any extra power? Waste of money/time/effort?! Thanks

Video: E55 Full decat & resonator removed

Well had the heavy, lardy resonator removed today ( Cats already removed ) - & straight stainless steel pipes added - difference is much deeper burble and actually sounds like a v8. Not much drone coming through in fact at gentle speeds you'd not even notice it had been done. Certainly deeper...

    SLK55 Exhaust Mod

Was wondering if anyone could help. As a new owner of an SLK55 I am after more noise from the exhaust. It seems the cheapest and easiest route to go is to remove the middle resonator..... Has anyone got any experience of this? And perhaps more importantly who can i trust to do a GOOD job with...

    E55 - Resonator delete - Y/N

hmmmmm I'm trying my absolute hardest to keep my 55 in factory state - well at least for any external, internal mods. At the moment she's fully decatted but still sounds like a kitten, is it worth going for a resonator box delete with either X or straight pipes to take up the slack ? Not...

    Resonator Delete? - CLS 63 2013

Hi all, New to the forums and looking for some advice. Not sure if this is the right section either, so please forgive me if this should be elsewhere! I have just received a 62 reg CLS 63 AMG, and I want to cut out the resonator and replace it with straight pipes. Of course, I want to do...

    Removing 'center' silencer (resonator)

On a 230 kompressor... I'm talking about the box between catalyst and the backbox. Removing this and getting it replaced with a straight through pipe.. Will it negatively affect performance? I'm guessing it will give it a gruntier sound..

E55K 211 De Cat and resonator delete

I will soon have available a stainless steel De-cat pipe for the 211 E55K. I am in the process of making one and it will include the X pipe. The quality will be second to none as always. Pics will follow next week.

    E55 (210) De-cat and resonator pipe delete

I have made a de-cat pipe for the 210 E55 saloon. The sound is wonderful and quality is perfect as usual.

    C43 decat and resonator delete

Said I would be back to give some impressions after a (2 x 4h) weekend drive. The sound of Olly's secondary decat and resonator bypass pipe is fantastic and the missus loves it too :bannana: The slight drone in 5th between 2500 and 2800 rpm is not intrusive and doesn't bother me. I guess my ear...

C32 Decat and resonator delete pipe.

I have made a de-cat pipe for C32's.:bannana::bannana::bannana::D:D It is a stainless steel pipe that can be fitted DIY if you are handy with the tools. It is very well made and sounds lovely without being too noisey.:D With the centre cats removed I am sure there will be a power gain but...

    C55 DE-Cat and resonator gone

Had the secondary cats and resonator taken off the C55 estate yesterday. The decision to do this was made for me when one of the secondary cats developed a tinkle that turned into a rattle that turned into an embarrassing racket. Very nice sound now. Slightly deeper a little louder but not...

Hi guys, Went down to Merc man today and found a C36 exhaust and resonator, we agreed the price of £250 for the pair, first off, will it fit? iv seen it on youtube where a bloke has one on his C230 from the UK and it was the sort of sound i like. second of all, is it good value? they look in...

    c32 resonator delete (silencer)

hi id like to get a bit more noise from my c32 . have seen a couple of videos on youtube of some cars that have had a resonator delete . read some where that you have to cut out the the secondary cats . i dont really fancy doing that tbh . is there a sliencer or something that could be removed...

    Resonator Delete Completed

Decided to have resonator removed on C55 this afternoon (after being driven in Steve's SL 500 Silver Arrow), and what a nice deep throaty sound added to the V8. Have kept the secondary cats as to remove them would have been too loud me thinks. Looking forward to hearing the sound after it's...

Anyone got/seen/heard/have an opinion on resonator removal, C43?

Anyone got a video, ideally? Really really really tempted. My last Audi you could hear coming from a mile away and although this is a bit excessive for the Merc I would like a bit more agressive noise. I understand I can remove the resonator, the secondary cats or both - thoughts?

    C55 Resonator removal

Several of the C55 owners on the MB US forum have removed their exhaust resonators. Has anyone here any experience of doing this in the UK? Are there good reasons why it should or shouldn't be done? Thanks Trando
