R230 350SL (2005)
Just had a B service at MB Hamilton which included both air and fuel filter change, also changed the spark plugs.
Should I notice much (if any) change in economy?
I'd say it apears a little sharper.
am going to get mine changed.
is it best to just get from MB Dealer or elsewhere?
if elsewhere, ECP are showing Beru at £7.13 each to Denso at £18.90 each, with Bosch at £9.12, and NGK at £12.30.
what is the best plug?
thanks.
I have 4 NGK LFR 7AIX Spark Plugs for sale.
They are recommended for tuned / mapped 55k engined cars.
£30 inc postage. I paid £40 and still have receipt

Last night, I changed 3 of the 6 plugs on one of my cars. I didn't do the remaining 3 as to get to those I need to take the alternator, inlet manifold and wiper motor out... and will need to wait until next weekend.
Anyhow, after changing the plugs (one at the time, so I didn't...
Dear esteemed members
there is a bloody massive war here about to kick off, which is a bit of a bugger as i haven't resolved the conundrum of why my plugs are ever-so-slightly oiling up and eventually misfiring.
There is no significant loss of oil. And no blue smoke. But if i go on a long...
Hi,
The spark plugs on my car will need changing soon on the 4 year basis so I have been looking online through various outlets even Ebay and every on recommends different plugs not just make but different part numbers. Its a nightmare.
Can someone give me a clue as to which ones to get.
I...
Clearing out some parts and found 20 of these plugs new and boxed. They're ngk r plugs, iv had a quick look through EPC but couldn't find which engine they'd fit seem to remember 272 or 156 but unsure, any help?
hi
can anyone resolve this? number six pot is burning some oil and it fouls up the plug pretty quickly. I've been told to put a 'hotter' spark plug which will burn some of the oil off....but which one? I already tried an NGK A6FS. Should i go even hotter?
all advice greatly appreciated.

yes, yes, for your smarties, this is still the bosch fuel distributor quiz...but i;m still buggered. my 300e keeps missing and my mechanic reckons it is isolated to cylinder number 6 which he says is burning a little more oil that the others. he says that using a 'hotter' spark plug will resolve...
Hey people
I'm changing the front breaks on my clc this Saturday and whilst I'm in my cousins garage i was thinking about changing my spark plugs.
Does the clc 180 KOMPRESSOR take the platinum plugs and if they do how often does it need changing ???
The car has done 62000 miles I think...
Hi All,
Its a CLK320 V6
Have a bad misfire done the codes (I'll start another thread on this) and, swapped maf, coil, I need to swap out the plugs and leads as a first step and they need doing anyway,
The new plugs are Bosch Super Plus Platinum Iridium (single point) any idea of the gap I...
Hi everyone I have started changing the plugs on my 1999 w208 320 CLK CABRIOLET I have done the first on the left looking in as it appeared easiest it took me 45 mins and the others look worse. I cannot see how the air intake from the air flow sensor to the other rear side of the engine undoes...
I have this marathon job to do soon.
Am I correct in thinking that there is a useful tool / thingy that you can use to help the caps off the spark plug without pulling too much on the plug leads ?
Do the plug leads themselves pull off the ignition modules ?
The last thing I want to do is to bust...
Hey all.
My w203 is due the B service but according to the service history plugs were changed in feb 2012. Is it best to change them and which make...Bosch or Ngk? Im going to do all filters and oils etc as its done 171000 miles.
MERCEDES CLS55 AMG 5.5 219 SERIES V8 NGK IRIDIUM SPARK PLUGS x16 05- ILFR6A
Done approx 2k miles on these plugs but due to mods I am fitting a colder set as advised by the savman these cost me approx £140, plugs run great and should last another 40k and are an upgrade on the standard merc...
I'm like to change the spark plugs on my '98 E55, now on 106k miles, but I strongly suspect they've never been changed since it was built. Hmmm... Plugs in place for fifteen years; what's the chance of them coming out? I don't want to break one or more, and have to take a head (or both...) off...
Just wondering if any S/C 55 Amg guys are running this make of spark plugs, I read if you have more than 450 WHP then a spark plug change is recommended due to heat, I currently have NGK iridium do I need to be changing ?
Evenin' all. I'm used to Saabs, for which NGK BCPR7E-11 spark plugs are very much the plug of choice an all the forums. Is my '98 E55 equally finicky about its plugs, and what do others use?

I wonder if anyone has ever come across a break out box/cable for the EZL module - EZL/AKR adaptor cable (117 589 01 21 00). The WIS (15-541 Testing electronic ignition system with variable ignition characteristics and anti-knock control (EZL/AKR) - page 2) suggests the use of this, and I am...
