I would use the original Mercedes brand, though I'm not sure which ones were used.
The Haynes manual recommends champion ones, though I've heard others say that Bosch ones are better.
I've changed the plugs on all my previous cars, but this looks like a complicated job, if anybody can post a link with instructions or can post a how to video or pics, it would be greatfully appreciated.
Cheers
AS the title says, I spent 5 hours over the weekend changing all 12 spark plugs on my CLK320. All I can say is what a B??tard of a job.
The worst part I found was getting the HT leads off and on especially the back two. Trying to unclick them and then reclicking them on without damaging them...
Bought some bosch spark plugs from GSF and looked in the Haynes and it mentions 0.8mm gap for Champion plugs (all engines), is this the same for Bosch? Probably a silly question but this maintenace lark is all new to me!
Also I have just changed my first air filter for a Bosch one and noted...
:( I recently posted a thread about loss of power. What was happening was that the engine was misfiring whenever I had to accelerate either from a stop or when driving. It was fine when cruising on the motorway.
I had a look at the spark plugs and there was oil around the spark plug no.1 in the...
As stated on the BBC Breakfast news this morning about stolen catalysts. Each catalyst contains a gram of platinum. How do you retrieve the platinum from catalysts and spark plugs?:D
Didn't I read in another thread someone drilled all the honey-comb stuff from the catalyst and dump it in the bin?
I got it on a picture incase i'm being a newbie and quoting the wrong part.
(It says "Kompressor" on it, you may not be able to see it due to picture being tiny)
I need one of these for a C230K W202, as mine has corroded and looks pretty bad.
P.S. If anyone knows the part number for this...
A140 Avantgarde 2003 - what spark plugs should I use ?
If I bought this item would it work on my a140 straight away ?

Just had a quote for an A Service on my C320 - £650.00 from my local MB dealer including a change of spark plugs @ their suggestion.
Dealer - A Service with a set of Spark Plugs sir - £650.00
Me - Hhmm seems a tad expensive
Dealer - It's the spark plugs sir, they're showing @ £300.00
Me...
The manual for my 1993 E280 (130K miles, OK condition) recommends Bosch F8DCO but I can't find them anywhere and my local MB parts shop says they have been repaced by Champion plugs (made in Mexico).
A friend who works as a patrol man for the RAC says Bosch is much better and ought to be...
Howdy!
I'm looking for a set of 6 spark plugs, the manual is telling me to look for "Champion RN14PMP5 or equivalent"...
but I can't find those Champions; nor can I find anywhere that tells me what's equivalent to them...
Ideas?
Thanks,
Michele
I'm about to change the plugs on my car (see signature).
I have a set of new "Bosch H7 DC 0" plugs for my ex 123 230TE.
Are these much different to Champion SY9C/CC &/or Bosch F 8 KTCR as recommended in my manuals (3511 & 3253).
I guess the actual question is: "Can I use the H7 plugs in my 124"...
Ordered a new set of sparks for CLK320 W208, but when I look, I've actually been sent the resistor spark plugs: FR8DPP33
So far as I read everywhere Mercedes specify F 8DPP33 - no R for resistor is mentioned...
Are the resistor plugs perfectly ok, or will they perform worse than their...
Can anyone give any pointers on spark plugs?
It appears I can put £1.70 Champions in or £9 iridium thingies. Presumably there is a reason for the difference.
Any thoughts - its for my 300CE24 - M104 engine.

My Dad's 211 is currently at stealership undergoing a B service.
They are charging for 12 spark plugs. Is that right?
E240 V6 engine on a 52 plate.
Just about to ring them to query it, but is 12 right? I thought it was 6 ??
Thanks, guys.

I've recently been told that I need to have my ignition wires replaced on my car. My mechanic mentioned just replacing just the ends. That would be the end near the spark plug. He is now telling me that the spark plug wires are now not available. $300 for the ends... $1000+ for the wire...
 Managed to replace my Spark Plugs today.
MB told me that they changed these, during a warranty job 10 months ago, (lack of power) at 51K miles, but I have my doubts about this. Car done almost 58K now.
Removed engine covers, then the coils, and used the long open ended spanner to...
I have had good advice from this forum already on Spark plug removal on the V6, but I was wondering, does it make the job any easier if I was to remove the coil box to get access to No.11 and 12 plug ?
If so, is it difficult to remove the coil and is it just the screw that I have arrowed in...
This is one to you tech guys who change spark plugs on a regular basis. I have just compared the prices between MB original parts and EuroCarParts for a set of 12 plugs for a V6.
Can you tell me what make of plug MB actually use when they do a replacement, and do you think that these Bosch...
