whats the best thing to remove the little tar spots off alloy wheels,the only thing i can find to do the job is metal polish past but i dont want to damage the laquer. cheers all

Morning all-My C280 is just perfect, but my friend owns a C250 Turbodiesel, 1998, R Reg Facelift. He seems to have a bit of a flat spot around 1800-2000 rpm regardless of which gear he is in. Has anyone else experienced this on a C250 TD? Or, does anyone have any idea what may be causing this...
