starting or cranking

Hi, hope you can shed some light on my problem. I know the problem is electrically based due to a bit of research, but hit a brick wall. All dash ignition illuminates but won't crank over unless I put a 12v POS(+) to the starter solenoid feed, then she fires up as normal. I'm lead to believe...
