Can anyone help with info re my ML 270 Tiptronic gearbox? Just started to intermittently not change through the gears and no kickdown, and the tiptronic change doesn't work. If I stop somewhere and then start again, it seems to be fine. It then may do it again later on. Starting off it...

will using the manual gears on a tiptronic box improve the mpg? i ask this cos on my current vehicle there is an average of 10 mpg difference between the auto and the manual version so i figure by using the manual tip gears it might improve my mpg or am i being stupid:doh:
