uprating

Has anyone on here uprated/improved there brakes - I'm mainly looking at disc/pad combinations. I have previously used EBC disc & pads which I thought were very good. Anyone have other opinions/options?? Any advice gratefully received! Also, if anyone knows the prices I'd expect to pay that...
