washing

Am planning to Power wash under the bonnet of my C220cdi - any areas to watch out for/avoid? Or should this practice be avoided?

So who was brave enough to handwash their pride and joy over the w/end to get all the grit/salt off the bodywork/alloys etc. ??? Usually the cold does not bother me but yesterday it was sooo cold that I ended up putting the car straight back in the garage after taking it out in preparation...

i bought a powerwasher for peanuts from B&Q at the weekend, so i could blast away the brake dust crap from my wheels. however, is it safe to to do this on the wheels, as i have just read that the alloy wheels are painted? zip
