Hello All. I've got a facelift w204 C220 cdi estate and I've covered 30k miles now. The brake wear warning has popped up on the dash this week. Merc say I need new pads as well as new discs. Can it be that the discs only last as long as the pads do? I was hoping I'd get at least 2 sets of pads...

as above just came up on dash ...says visit workshop/garage would this be for front brakes,,,back brakes or all 4..dont want to take it too garage and get ripped off ,,them saying it means all 4 ??? when only front or back if you know what i mean ??? just started car with foot on brake..auto...

just wondering how long before i need some new rear tyres. I'm a very very steady driver and my rear Continentals have 4mm left on both. They don't look to have worn at all in the last two thousand miles.

What sort of mileage are you getting on your tyres? I am not too impressed with my tyre wear. 30K miles in and rears are 3mm each but what's worse is that half that time I have been on winters so in effect 15K miles and the tyres are almost worn :dk:

does anyone know why the sensors are different lengths on each side? passenger side sensor is tripped very quickly and can sometimes bring on the brake warning light. the drivers side sensor is what I would call normal and trips when pad is worn. it's the passenger one I don't understand? thanks
