i think the tittle say it .. basicly ive just fitted new alloys on my clk208 but the car will not move... Wat could it be?

Hi, the lid of my boot will not open. Every time I try the handle there is a 2-3 seconds grinding noise and that’s it! Surely there is something wrong with the locking mechanism but is there a way to get into it in the first place? The little emergency key is only turning 15 minutes/ 90 degrees...
