ive told my mum id buy her a new ish car for around £3k...

Cheapest car at the moment is the Kia Picanto 1.0 manual at £4450. The 1.1 auto is £6295
1.4 cars?
Kia Rio 1.4 auto is £8290.

Also try Micra, Fiat 500, KA etc..

cheers

ive just spent an hour looking at the ford, fiat, alfa & renault sites

they dont like to make it easy

how about just show the pics of cars and the prices

an extra £2k for an auto box is taking the michael

they make the deals seem so cheap but its still alot of money

i dont mind helping eithe rof them out (i bought my daughters mother her last 2 cars and she pays me back at £10 a week, usually)

Once you know what car you're after have a look on
Buy a Car, Deals on New Cars, drivethedeal.com, New Car Discount, Car Deal Online to get a good deal.

Also,
Honest John's New Car Deals
regularly updates with new car deals.

From personal experience I can recommend Smart cars. Their automatic gearbox is actually a manual gearbox with an automatic clutch actuator, so cheaper than a standard auto box. Residuals are strong too. Only 2 seats though.

Edit: Drive the deal do a Fiat Panda 1.2 petrol auto for £7.5k

see your going to spend £4-5k on a car like a kia then in 2 years its worth £3k but spend £4-5k on a merc and in 2 years it will be worth £4k

thanks for all the advice

Won't be brand new but I love my forfour semi-auto, you can get the 1.3 petrol 95bhp so not slow & with 6 gears very good on fuel too!
