Hi, all.

My car is mercedes e class w211

Recently i had diagnostic check by mercedes specialist (independent)
Deutsche Autohaus LTD

Charged £72 for diagnostic
2 fault came,
O2 sensor and back pressure sensor.

I have received a call today the need to order these 2 sensor,

And total cost would be £355 include labour, is this a fair price?

Just asking because it's my first mercedes car so don't have any idea about prices.

Thanks.

Sounds expensive to me buddy .For my E320cdi W211 I fitted a Bosch O2 sensor a few years ago which was maybe £70-80 ?
A Back pressure sensor from MB is £60-70 ish .
I doubt an experience tech would take more than 30 minutes to replace both .

I just checked . MB Newcastle eBay do the EBPS for £66 .
The MB O2 sensors are £200-300+ , so I would use a Bosch one from eBay , they look to be about £84

I recently bought a downstream O2 sensor for the C200 from Autodoc for £24 + VAT.
The make was Ridex. It was the correct replacement.
It takes about half an hour to change.

Good morning.

Where is the O2 sensor (just one or two on the V6?). I am getting the occasional O2 sensor error message. 🤔

And still going buddy . I think it has MB part numbers on it . There are two versions (short and long cable ) you need the long cable one
Thank you Sir! 👍👍

Would you happen to have the part number to hand? I am presuming the sensor might be the same for the 280 and 320 version? The cable on this is 560mm.1000031181.jpg

Sorry buddy , I’ve trawled my eBay account and can’t find it (or the thread I did for replacing it ) . I think you will have to cross check different car search sites .
Maybe check Opie oils and AUTODOC as well
I would guess they cross different models like the 280&320cdi’s

So any local mechanic can change these 2 sensors?

And also what would be labour cost?

Any competent garage could change them. With ramps and the correct tools it is a fairly easy job.

The back pressure sensor is located on top of the engine and is very easy to reach and replace although it does require, I think, a deep 24mm socket.

Labour will depend on what your local garages charge. Call a couple and get estimates.

355 + 72 sounds expensive.
