I didn't mention Habitat.

Perhaps, but where's the Habitat connection in that? (OK - TCR provides a tenuous connection...)

Sometimes, MOCAS, you think just a bit too literally...getting drunk can actually be good for you.

Mr Morgan is off to bed. No doubt he will dream of his Waring and Gillow wardrobe converted into a Rover.

John - he's talking to the wrong people. It can be done for about £450....

Painful - but not as painful as £800!

PM some details if you them David please. My BiL is coming over at Christmas and his clutch will last/should til then. He just has to put his foot under the clutch pedal to help bring it back up to the top now and again.

That is the CSC faulty, not the clutch being worn out.

Normally the CSC is replaced as part of a full clutch replacement so adds £150+ to the bill.

I suspect the £450 is without a new CSC.

Anybody know if you can replace the plastic walnut panels in the facelift cars (or indeed the MG ZT-T grey plastic)with the proper walnut from the pre-facelift ones?

Note how I concentrate on the most essential items first.

I think you can. Place to check is here - Rover 75 & MG ZT Owners Club

DM is right. But because you have the gearbox out to do the Clutch Slave Cylinder there is no point doing one without the other. You can get the Clutch with CSC kit for £140 on ebay. There are guys on the forum that can do the job in under 3 hours I am told.

Again the place to start is on the above forum. They seem to be pretty good at recommending specialists in any given area. I've seem some people have traveled a bit to get the job done also. It's just a case of digging around for the right quote I think.

More work over the weekend...

Changed the MAF yesterday, goes better, but refuses to rev over 3K - I'd expected the MAF to sort this.

Now have an updated PCV valve, air filter (which was a bit mucky so might as well replace it), Diesel Filter (current one is covered by a cloth to stop it rattling - suspicious), and Crank Sensor (used, but tested) on order. Most of these are sensible maintenance items in any case.

Car also has issue with a stuck thermostat, so done the 'unofficial fix' and added the Renault 5 one into the top hose. The original is a pig to get at and needs the engine lifting off it's mount. Might still get it done in time. Still takes a time to warm-up - I think I need to get the Fuel Burning Heater working - engine is so efficient this seems to be the only way to keep the temperature up.

And my first interior mod... Recognise the head unit anyone?

BMW head unit? The knobs look like the one in my trusty 3 series.

Yup. Had to cut the 'ears' off it, but the top mounts are identical as are the connectors.

Have a slight issue that as I've upgraded the sat drive it proudly presents the BMW logo on startup. There is a fix for that, which will stick the Rover logo up there instead! Just need to find it.

David, how is you Rover going? Still got it?

Here's mine: 2001 Rover 75 Club SE 2.0 V6

****ing think....

Yes and it's still not working. I solved one problem to walk into another. I think I have a handle on it, but am waiting for a particular tool to remove a sensor for cleaning, and maybe testing as it's potentially £200 to replace - too much to risk on a guess.

PS Sat Nav now shows Rover - but unfortunately speaks German!

Sorry to hear that David.... I've had mine for just 2 years now and to be honest it's given me less hassles than 3 of my last 4 Mercs! In fact the only thing has been the Cam Sensor but that was just after I got the car. Since then 2 MOT's and all is well....

Have you joined here: The 75 and ZT Owners Club Forums lots of help and info there! Well worth it.

Good luck, and maybe see you on the 'other side'.... I go by the same 'Handle'...lol.
