Ok , Jaguar V8 Saloon , early 2000’s :)
Great cars but Spanners and voltmeter required....

For my part I wish I’d bought a series Land Rover (or maybe 1970s Range Rover) when good ones were £5k, ideally a factory V8. The US can’t get enough of them and pay big money. Most good original ones now seem to ask £15-35k.

Or here’s another oldie that seems cheap, often around £5k, but will get more rare and prices should surely rise. Also these cost peanuts to own and run, and easy to do your own work on if you like.

Rumour has it that when designer Issigonis was presented with the first Minor prototype /mockup he got the builders to saw it down the middle and move the two sides apart to widen the track until he was satisfied of the proportions. It's Austin A30 contemporary had a much narrower track----pre-dates the BL badging of models of course which were essentially the same model badged Austin , Morris, MG or Riley. MG being the BL equivalent of Mercedes AMG badging in its day!;)

Again, I can't talk towards investment, but I buy daily drivers that are usually 15-20 years old because by then, they're fully depreciated. If you find a good example of a car that was very desirable in the day when it's 15-20 years old, and is no a PITA to keep running, you should have no problems getting what you paid, if not more when you sell it in 4-5 years, assuming that you keep the car presentable.

Right now, I think that an AMG version of the W210 or any W208 CLK would fit the bill.

Find a really good W215.

I would have loved to have kept mine if I’d had somewhere secure & dry to keep it.
I think they will appreciate, in time - there are lots of rough ones/ poor history/uncared for, out there, but find a good one and it will appreciate.

I love these but my wife thinks they are too old fogey-ish.
Are all this era of Jags reliant on a voltmeter?
Not really. They've got electronics and ECU issues WAY beyond the pay grade of any voltmeter.
Your wife's right, Jaags are old fogeyish, but they are British.
For reliability, the 2003 S500 is a safer bet, but hey, the Jag is always The Government Minister's car.
(I missed Cecil Parkinson's 2003 XJ a decade ago. Stylish car.... but not as well made as an S500 and probably a can of worms...)

Absolutely not.

Big pharma makes money out of ulcer meds not global vaccination with contracts effectively at cost.

There's big money in Big Pharma, but nowt to do with the current shenanigans. (With the exception of Modena, which got lucky)

For a safe solid 20 % p.a. go Microsoft, Philip Morris, or L'Oreal..... "Because you're worth it. (Cough)"

Nothing to do with Covid. Pfizer produces Viagra.

I wonder if Rover 75s will become future classics.

1/10 of a Bitcoin? That’s as big a gamble as buying an old car and hoping it’ll appreciate!
