05 c220cdi warning lights

I went to look at an 05 plate c220cdi today. When i started it up it was really smooth and started first time but the coil symbol (heater plugs?) and the engine management lights both stayed illuminated.
Is this likely to be something simple or could it be a major and costly issue?

Sounds like one (or more) glow plugs have failed.
While they are not really necessary in our climate the failed ones should really be changed, and it can be a bit of a pig so best left to a specialist.
Definitely worth negotiating an extra couple of hundred quid off for this.

Hi

I dont think the glow plug fault would trigger the engine warming light so that makes two faults at least.

Needs to be on star to see what is triggering the engine light before establishing cost
