Normally down on the exhaust I believe buddy , not far from the engine

Should be an O2 sensor above the Primary Cat and one below on both banks. Upstream and downstream.
In the diagram, Item 350 .

I would take a guess that sensor 1 is upstream, ie above the primary cat.
