Just changed the 3 turbo seals today, the resources and advice on this forum were a big help!!

The seals were bought from my local parts store at the Mercedes showroom.
When I compared the old and new main orange seals it seems they are different. (Please see attached image)

The old one has a few extra bits on them, and they also felt like the old ones were about 1-2mm longer.
Have I been given the wrong part?
If its wrong, really dont want it to get sucked in to the turbo :(

The determiner of suitability is in fact the suction tube itself.
There are several iterations to fit not only MB badged units , but Jeep Grand Cherokees, and Dodge/Freightliner and MB Sprinters which have two distinct types of their own.
The adapter sleeve must fit snugly into the suction tube and mate with those locating nubs.
There should no be any appreciable protrusion of the rubber seal.
I always to be on the safe side cross refer vin# with seal number at an MB parts counter again just to be on the safe side..

By the way that sleeve is part of an MB worldwide bulletin mentioned that seal being sucked into the turbo and that it should be changed each and every time the suction hose is disturbed.
All the best

Thanks to info found on this forum the turbo seals have been changed. Thought I'd share on here that there are two different variants. The original one I took out had extra "tabs" to hold the seal in place and stopped it getting sucked in. New one supplied by Mercedes didn't. Took it back to their parts store and they matched the part numbers and supplied the correct one.

For any one looking to replace the turbo seals, you can see difference in the picture attached.

Need to ask for part number - A 642 094 04 80 -
