Forgive me if this isn't even the right website but some time back I received replies dealing with my new transmission noise coming through the body in to the car when in fifth. The noise is slight but I hear it and it didn't exist before changing the gearbox shift bushes, propshaft center bearing, donuts and all mounts. It was suggested by a member that having changed so much I should have checked that all the gearshift neutral positions should have been checked before putting it all back together. That said I will check this when I finally get home but it has occured to me that as well as the gearbox mount (changed) I also fitted the engine (this is the 2.3 petrol engine) center mount when rebuilding. The car didn't have one before and I had to buy the parts. Could it be that this is the cause; that this engine shouldn't have one? Best wishes to all and Merry Christmas.
