124 centre consol

how do i remove the centre consol on my 124 merc i have removed the ash tray the 2 screws at the bottom aswell. i dont want to prise it off incase i break something can anybody help cheers andy

if you want to remove the bit around the heater controls then you need to pull those off - they can be a bit stubborn and then undo the two big nuts behind them

If yopu want to remove the bit over the transmission tunnel then it unscrews at the rear (under the carpet in the tray) and then just lifts clear - again, it will need a firm pull but don't jerk it or you risk cracking the wood
