Hi, new to Mercs having ventured over from the 'Dark Side', wonder if you guys can help me, I want to fit an alarm and remote central locking system onto the car ('94 E220 Estate) I have found the instructions for locating the pump and what you need to do for the saloon, is the pump in the same location as the saloon? and if so how on earth do you access it.

Any other helpful hints on alarm fitting (Cobra 3193) gratefully recieved!

Car drives amazingly well (1 Owner 119k with full MB main dealer History!) and I've driven loads of new & high end cars over the years through my work.... guess its just run in!

http://www.mercedesshop.com/Wikka/W124Keyless you access it by lifting the rear seat same as the saloon. I expect you will have detailed instructions with the alarm? This is all the wiring info I have.
Red - 12v +
Black - Earth
Pink/black - speed pulse
Pink/blue - door switches
Orange, Orange/white. Violet, Violet/white, black/grey, black/yellow - central locking
Brown - earth output on arming
Grey - accessory input
Black (far right pin) - bonnet switch
Black x 2 (next to each other) - siren connector
Green x 2 - engine immobiliser
Green/red - ignition feed

Hi, thanks for your reply, yep those are the instructions ive been looking at, but struggling to see how you lift the carpet in the estate with out causing devasation.

I have alarm instructions, just interested in any model specific shortcuts or tips

Thanks

Phil

Open the n/s/r door, remove the kick plate, lift the carpet

You can't get really good access without lots of fiddling. Please don't do what I saw the other day - don't cut a big L-shape into the carpet to make life easy

on the estate you will need to open the n.s.r door, remove the kick plate, remove the seat squab, remove the plastic trim on the seat hinge, remove the seat belt buckles and then pull the carpet out as much as you can. should be enough - i did the same job on my 94 estate a few weeks back
